What Is A Vaporizer?
A vaporizer is a device used to release the active ingredients of your blends or oils/concentrates without combustion (which creates smoke). This is achieved through either Conduction or Convection (see below).
How is Vaporizing healthier than smoking?
Instead of burning the material, your product is heated at a much lower temperature. This allows you to receive all of the benefits that cannabis has to offer without the carcinogens and combustion by-products that are released during combustion (smoking). How do I know which Vaporizer is best for my needs?

What’s the difference between Conduction and Convection?
With conduction vaporization, your herb is placed in direct contact with the heating source. On the other hand, convection vaporization occurs when hot air passes through the herb to strip off the terpenes and cannabinoids that do the magic.
How long will my Vaporizer last?
All vaporizers have a lifetime. Batteries can only recharge so many times before they are no longer functional (especially the smaller oil pen batteries at 280/350 MaH). The atomizing coils used in concentrate vapes need to be changed out relatively often and cleaning can only extend their usefulness so far.
Accept the fact that your vaporizer(s) will need consumable parts replaced as time goes by. Keeping your gear clean and fully charged will make sure that it works with maximum effectiveness for as long as possible. On a happy note, we stock all the parts you will need to keep your vape in tip-top condition!
Does my Vaporizer come with a warranty?
The warranty period and coverage for each vaporizer, is determined by the manufacturer’s warranty policy. Most of our vaporizers come with at least a 1 Year Warranty, however, some of the higher end models include a Lifetime Warranty.
Do Vaporizers make any noise?
Most vaporizers make no sound at all. However, some of the forced-air units (Volcano, Extreme Q, etc.) will make a light fan noise when the balloons are being filled or air is passing through the whip.
Is there a smell associated with Vaporizing?
There is a slight smell that is released upon exhaling (comparable to lightly burnt popcorn), but it’s very mild when compared to smoking. The vaporizer will have an odour after use; this is why we recommend cleaning of your equipment after each session and the use of an odour-proof bag for storage.
How do I change my Vaporizer screen?
First, make sure you have the right size screens. vaporizers utilize screens of all sizes…from 1/8″ to 1″. Now changing your screens can be a little tricky. To remove, simply poke the screen out with a tool of some sort (brush, paper clip, etc.). Adding the new screen takes patience and a small tool of some sort to correctly position the new screen inside the glass wand. It usually helps to slightly bend the screen into a concave shape before trying to insert. Use your tool to push the screen into the proper position where it can lay relatively flat and hold your blends while vaporizing
Is there anything I should order as a supplement to my Vaporizer?
Soothing Vapours carries a large variety of accessories that can be used to further enhance your vaporizing experience.
Are there any attachments to make herbal Vaporizers compatible with concentrates?
Some of our vaporizers offer an attachment that will make your herbal vaporizer compatible with concentrates like wax or oil. Generally, it is best to use a vaporizer designed for a specific function…the multi-function vapes do not seem to be quite as effective with all forms of vaping.
Why am I not seeing any smoke?
There shouldn’t be any smoke when you are vaporizing. The whole idea of vaporizing is to avoid the dangerous effects of smoking. You should, however, see a light cloud of white vapour when you exhale. How much vapour you see depends on your vaporizing temperature, the ambient temperature, the strain of herb used and the freshness of the load. Higher temperatures will produce denser and hotter vapour, whereas lower temperatures will produce tastier but less visible vapour.
Why won’t my pen Vaporizer heat up? Is it locked?
Most pen vaporizers come with a lock mechanism. This is utilized so that your unit doesn’t unintentionally heat up while in your pocket or purse. To unlock/lock, simply press the button 3-5 times in rapid succession.
Will I get bigger clouds of vapour if I turn up the temperature?
Yes. Turning up the heating temperature will typically produce more noticeable and bigger clouds of vapour.
My pen Vaporizer won’t turn on. What’s wrong?
Many pen vaporizers have a 5-click lock mechanism. Simply click the button 5 times rapidly and it should turn on.
Using A Vaporizer
What is the perfect temperature for Vaporization?
It really depends on the vaporizer. However, the optimum temperature range for most vaporizers is somewhere within 180 to 195 degrees Celsius.
How long does it take for the Vaporizer to heat up?
It really depends on the vaporizer. Some vapes take 3-4 minutes to reach vaporizing temperatures, whereas some units can heat up in 10 seconds.
Do I need to grind my blends before Vaporizing?
Definitely. Grinding your blend allows for more efficient vaporization because it increases the surface area of your blends and allows hot air to pass through much more effectively.
How do I clean my Vaporizer?
You might need to disassemble some of the parts before you begin to ensure a thorough cleaning. Q-tips are great for reaching those hard-to-reach spots. Most vaporizer screens can be cleaned with a small brush or glass-cleaning solution. This allows for proper air flow and maximum efficiency.
How can I tell when my blends are finished Vaporizing?
It all depends on your preference. Some users will stop when they sense a ‘toasted popcorn’ flavour in the vapour. At this point, the residual herb will have turned lightly brown; other users will vaporize until the resid is much darker.
How do I load my wax/oil into my pen Vaporizer?
We recommend using a dabber tool or the handy ‘Mini-Measuring Spoons’ found in the product page. A dabber tool is a small metal instrument that makes the adding and removing of your wax/oil painless. It also allows the user to accurately apply the wax/oil directly onto the atomizer or into the oil cartridge.
How should I inhale while Vaporizing?
For most vaporizers, we recommend a slow and steady inhale. This will typically produce the best results.
Should I still charge the batteries if they came charged when I received them?
Yes. We always recommend that you fully charge your battery upon receiving your new vaporizer. This will ensure maximum performance and battery life.
How tightly/loosely should I pack my herbs in the heating chamber?
For most vaporizers, we recommend that you gently ‘tamp’ down your herbs to fix them in place in the heating chamber. This allows for better airflow and more efficient vaporization.

Why isn’t the discount code working?
Sale and special items are ineligible for discount codes, as these items are already heavily discounted. Also, due to manufacturer requirements, certain products are ineligible for discounts: Coupon codes not valid with Storz & Bickel, Pax, Arizer, Herbalizer or DaVinci products.
I’ve already placed my order, but I just found a coupon code. Can I still apply it?

When can I expect my package if I choose Free Shipping?
Most packages ship from our facility the same or next business day via Canada Post. If you need the package sooner, we also offer rush processing) and a variety of expedited shipping methods.
Ages and usage and legality?
Everything on the Soothing Vapours is sold for legal purposes only. We cannot sell anything to you if it’s illegal to purchase the item in your jurisdiction or if you are underage. Generally, we follow a minimum age of 19 or the legal age of the province in which you reside. Our payment and shipping setups require that an adult pays for every order.
All prices are in Canadian Dollars. Any credit card purchases will show on your statement as being with “Soothing Vapours”. Our two primary payment methods are via credit card or Interac E-Transfer.
Why did my credit card decline?
Our credit card processing requires some security features for your payment to proceed. You must know your CVV number (or card verification value) or CVC (card verification code) on the back of your card. You must also get your card’s billing address exactly correct, as it appears on your card Statement to pass the AVS – Address Verification System check.
What about Prepaid Credit Cards?
Similar to a regular credit card, it is our understanding that you can generally use most “prepaid” Visas and MasterCards to make purchases on our site. As with a ‘regular’ card, you will have to provide the necessary details from your card – including the security code and billing address. Many prepaid cards are not set up with a Billing Address out-of-the-box, but according to Visa (and we believe similarly with MasterCard) you can call the bank or company that issued your card to register your address to the card and then the Address Verification System can verify the card and address and authorize the purchase.
Is our packaging discreet?
Your privacy is important to, and respected by, us. Every order is shipped out in a nondescript box with only “Soothing Vapours” and our return address on it. If you require special packaging of any kind, please feel free to request just about anything reasonable in the ‘Comments’ section of your order and we’ll do what we can to help.
How do we ship?
Our standard shipping options are offered by Canada Post. Our shopping cart software setup should give you a number of options; if none of those speed and cost options are suitable for you, please feel free to contact us to let us know what you need or desire and we can always try to help. We aim to ship all orders within about a business day after they are paid for, and will do our best to keep you informed, especially if there are any delays or issues (due to stock shortages or other unexpected circumstances). Our shipping charges are added to your checkout automatically.
Our intention is to charge you as close as possible to what we have to pay for your shipping. Anything outside of Canada or excessively heavy or awkwardly shaped, we may require a custom rate i.e. you may have to be flexible and bear with us: we will always do our very best for you. Again – if you are unhappy with the shipping options presented (for example, you want to order small items and the options are all over ten bucks and you’d be happy if we just mailed the item(s) in a small envelope) please CONTACT US and we’ll do what we can to help you and make things make sense for you.
Can we ship to a different address than your card’s Billing Address?
Due to a shockingly high rate of credit card fraud, we can only ship orders to your credit card’s billing address.
How quickly do we ship?
We do our best to get your shipment out within one business day of you placing (and paying for) orders placed on weekdays. Orders placed on the weekend will be processed early Monday morning…we need time off the job too!
Add to that the time it takes for your chosen and service level that you chose) to deliver your item and you should generally get your order within a few days at most, for most locations within Canada. The vast majority of the items in our online store are in-stock; if an item that you order is not in stock then we will always communicate clearly and quickly with you and to locate the out-of-stock item for you as quickly as possible. If the replacement time is excessive, we will offer you options for substitutions should you wish to go that route.
If necessary, Soothing Vapours will fill your order directly from our distributers. Sometimes re-stocking can take a bit of time (for example if our suppliers are also sold out of an item), but we will always do our best to take excellent care of you. If you need an item quickly for a specific deadline or have some other special request, then please contact us using the email addresses and phone numbers listed on the webpage.
Can we ship to your country?
Our web-store is primarily intended to service the needs of Canadians and is therefore configured to primarily allow for shipping within Canada automatically, but we are happy to try to help folks who are outside of Canada as well. We have shipping options for USA as well as most European and some Asian countries. We will not ship anything anywhere where the item is forbidden or otherwise could create a problem for us. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone or any country as we so choose. If we are unable to ship to you, we will ignore or refund any payment and inform you as soon as possible. If we CAN ship to you outside of Canada, your shipping charges may have to be individually calculated and sent to you prior to completing the order.
What about free shipping?
Soothing Vapours offers free shipping on all orders above $199. We aim to have the best prices available on the products that we sell. We want to ensure that your package will get to you quickly and safely; however, all orders are fully insured in case of problems.
Do prices change?
While we make every reasonable effort to have accurate pricing on our web-store, mistakes are not impossible, so we must reserve the right to change prices without notice, and to decline any order that contains an item that is mistakenly-priced. Please read the item descriptions and don’t rely primarily on photographs for information about products – they may show more than you will actually receive if you choose to order that item.
What is our Return/Exchange Policy?
Returns: Our policy lasts 15 days. If 15 days have gone by since you received your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. For example, perishable goods and sale items cannot be returned. All returns must be accompanied by proof of purchase (and identifying information) in the form of a copy of your receipt or invoice from our store.
Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer unless your item is covered under Manufacturer Warranty – in which case you should contact the manufacturer to find out how they would like you to proceed.
Refunds: Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed in your original method of payment.
Exchanges: We only replace items if they are defective or damaged prior to your receiving them. If you need to exchange something for the same item, send us an email at email@example.com and we can figure it out with you.
Shipping: To return your product, you should contact us for details. You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of shipping will be deducted from your refund. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary. If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance.
